As the first point of contact for customers, Climbing Instructors are expected to support every member of our community – from beginning to experienced climbers. DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
• conduct lessons, checks, and safety orientations, introducing new customers to the gym’s policies and procedures
• provide excellent customer service to all gym members and customers, ensuring an enjoyable climbing experience
• perform desk duties: manage check ins, climber waivers, climber proficiencies, use POS system for passes and gear
• perform daily gym maintenance tasks: cleaning, repairs, rearrange displays, etc.
• promote climbing programs, classes, events, and encourage customers to participate in them
• gain adequate knowledge of climbing equipment to provide customer help in our retail space

As a Planet Rock Routesetter, you will design, install, and maintain climbing routes and boulders, to ensure a dynamic and engaging experience for climbers. Responsibilities include weekly route setting, hold stripping, washing, and organizing hardware such as bolts and screws. The ideal candidate is committed to refining their route-setting skills, mentoring apprentices, and fostering a safe and enjoyable climbing environment for all guests.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain holds, washing and replacing.
• Maintain a good flow of newly changed routes, by direction of head setter.
• Work with routesetters at other Planet Rock locations to create a unified setting staff.
• Keep up necessary maintenance logs in wall book, working with wall manager.
• Set for local competitions, following schedule planned by head setter.
• Seek higher levels of setting certification for comps, etc., if desired.

The General Manager plays a key role in the daily functions of the gym, as well as being an integral part of future projects + events. This position oversees multiple areas; such as administrative, front desk, procedural, staff resources, scheduling and coordinating groups/events. Ensuring each operates smoothly on a day-to-day basis.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

• be a point of contact for all things Planet Rock; engage new customers, maintain member loyalty, become an active part of our community
• provide strong leadership by setting a clear direction, motivating employees, and fostering a positive work culture
• oversee day-to-day operations and report operational effectiveness
• partner with other team leaders to support organizational objectives and ensure Planet Rock’s mission, vision, and values are being met
• participate in monthly administrative meetings
• manage front desk staff and operations; new customers, sales, schedules, member check-in, pro shop sales
• recruit, retain, perform evaluations and reviews for staff
• update and implement daily policy + procedures
• staff training; new hires, safety clinics, lesson procedures, daily operations
• provide stellar customer service to everyone who enters our community
• create, clearly communicate, and manage a work schedule that supports the operational requirements and demands of the business

This is a full-time position with availability to work weekend + evening shifts as needed.
